The types of blogs you can build are limited only by your imagination and by your willingness to conduct research. For instance, while some bloggers focus on general topics, such as cars, other bloggers narrow the scope of their blogs even further to sub-topics, such as luxury cars or antique cars. From an optimization standpoint, a blog with a narrower scope would likely outperform a blog with a broader scope in terms of conversions or clicks-per-visitor. So, if your goal is to make money, the types of blogs you can build are somewhat limited.

In terms of actual topics for the types of blogs you can build, there are about 9 major areas that are popular for current blogs: business, culture, community, politics, religion, science, travel, online diaries, and gossip. Most blog directories use similar topical categories to order blogs.

In addition to the topic for the types of blogs you can build, you will also want to consider the program used to generate it. This is another way that directories categorize blogs. For instance, blogs can fall under the category of the tool or software that was used to create them. Some blogs are created using Google’s Blogger. These blogs are often lumped together in directories as the same “type” of blog. They actually have an auto-surfing system that allows you to jump randomly from one Blogger blog to the another.

Other types of blogs you can build include social networking blogs, which allow members of the same network to interact with each other using various blog functions. Two examples are Livejournal–which was one of the original social networking blog systems–and Myspace, which is currently the largest, boasting a base of around 80,000,000 users. In recent months, marketers and business persons have begun using Myspace to introduce their product to potential customers. Read the rest of this entry »

Tips for Bloggers

Write the Best Possible Content even if it is not every day.

Writing often is advice that most bloggers come across on other sites. The reason why it is popular advice is due to the fact that it is based on the assumption that posting often demonstrates that you are committed to what you do. This results in visitors and readers coming back to your blog to see and read about what you’re up to. Posting too often may sometimes have the opposite effect. Visiting a blog for the second time, readers might be looking for the same post to re-read or something similar. Forcing your readers to go through a bunch of new posts, 1, 2 sometimes 3 a day might be a deterring factor. In these cases I will just use a search engine to find what I am looking for. Furthermore, the 2nd and 3rd posts of the day are usually of lesser quality due to writers fatigue and therefore less interesting. Instead of posting several times a day just post once a day or just whenever you think you have something interesting or useful to write about. Put some though in your posts, give your readers a reason to come back and always avoid bombarding them with clutter. Focus your effort on a few good topics.

Optimize your Blog for Search Engines
Most bloggers out there start blogging the wrong way. After they start blogging they do so by relying primarily on social networks for traffic. Social network traffic is great but it rarely converts into money. The best traffic to make money is search engine traffic. A blogging tip everyone should get a chance to read and re-read is that search engine traffic will be the most profitable kind. Although Social networking is an easy way to generate traffic you should always spend some time to make sure your blog and posts are properly optimized to rank well in search engine result pages. Take a few hours a week and perform a few scheduled and simple search engine optimization tasks. Read the rest of this entry »

If you are new to the world of personal development and goal setting, then you may be wondering what it is and how to go about goal setting. In this article, you will learn what is goal setting and how you may just be doing goal setting already.

When you awake in the morning to go to work in time, this is goal setting. The process of setting your alarm to get up, washing your clothes the night before, and preparing for work are all part of goal setting.

In the dictionary the term goal means the end of the race or the object of effort. These points are important. Another word we have is set. To set means to put or place in specified position or condition; cause to sit; fix, point, put up; make ready; become firm or fixed, establish; prescribe, allot; arrange while wet, so that it dries in position.

That last point is an important one. If we consider sand and cement, we add water, and it sets, it becomes concrete. This is the essence of what is goal setting. You have an objective, and with the right ingredients, you make a product, your goal. Read the rest of this entry »

Online advertising is often more cost effective than offline media, where seconds of exposure on TV can sometimes cost a few thousand dollars. Banner advertising has been popular 10 years back. It is powerful and immediate. The internet has become an essential component of any ad campaign. It is growing more than traditional advertising, and includes both search marketing and search engine optimization, which both tap into consumers’ seemingly limitless demands for finding information on the Internet. In one eMarketer forecast, search engine marketing alone is speculated to climb to almost $6.5 billion this year, and to reach more than $10 billion by 2009.

Real-time reporting can be queried on any campaign parameter. Ad networks are critical for aggregating audiences. But if they’re disconnected from the rest of the market, they can hinder efficiency and profitability because they offer limited supply and demand. Its AdLearn technology, which maximizes advertising revenues across the network, learns from the results of previous campaigns and gets smarter with each advertisement placed. You know you’ve successfully branded your business when your customers recognize your name and are able to identify your products or company and separate you from all the other businesses offering similar services.

Branding has one purpose, to earn the trust of your customers so that they buy only from you and refer your business to friends and family members looking for the same kind of products.

Branding can be accomplished through several different methods that ensure your company is at the top search engine lists so consumers can find you among your competition on the Internet.

An important aspect of developing a brand for your business involves creating a website that allows your customers to quickly recognize your name, what your products or services are and a catchy logo that represents your service and value.

Your brand should be a direct representation of the products and services that you sell as well as the personal style of your business. There are many different marketing techniques that can create brand recognition and are relatively simple to implement.

1) Packaging.
The packaging of your products should be unique and creative. You want your customers to be able to easily identify your packaging so they’ll remember your company when they see it. For example, Tiffany & Co. has branded a little blue box that consumers automatically associate with the business. Read the rest of this entry »

When you live out in the country and want high speed Internet service dial-up Internet access simply doesn’t get it done. Satellite Internet service is your best option to enjoy broadband Internet access. There are two different kinds of satellite Internet service, one-way satellite service and two-way satellite Internet access.

A one-way satellite Internet system uses your telephone line for the upload page request. After the page request is received the satellite sends the download signal. One-way access is still a lot faster than dial-up Internet access, but aren’t you trying to get rid of dial-up and not tie up your phone line? If tying up your phone isn’t an issue to you, one-way access is somewhat reliable but the companies that offer the service are not. Most of these are startup companies that are way under capitalized.

Two-way satellite Internet access has a dish mounted on your home or business that sends the upload page request signal up to the satellite. This eliminates tying up your phone line or adding additional expense for a second line. Two-way satellite Internet service works very similar to satellite TV systems. You will enjoy fast and reliable Internet service. Read the rest of this entry »

Hiking for Fun

JOIN A HIKING CLUB

This can make the hike much more interesting. The club usually has a leader of the hike who will point out interesting things along the way. If you are not familiar with the trails, it is always good to go with a group and a leader who is an experienced hiker.

ALL FAMILY MEMBERS CAN JOIN IN ON THE HIKE

Even your little children will love to go along on a hike, providing the walk is not too far for them. You can always start out on short hike – some clubs will have a one-mile hike, five-mile hike, ten-mile hike and even more. There are also different type of hikes – such as day hikes and moonlight hikes. As with anything else, you should ask your physician before starting any kind of exercise program.

EXPENSES

Hiking is very inexpensive. You might have to pay a hiking club a fee to be a member. On most hikes, people will take some snacks and something to drink during rest periods. You might want to carry a small “fanny pack” with you in order to be able to carry all your snacks, etc. The only other cost involved would probably be the gas to get you to the hiking starting point. If someone is interested in being a “professional hiker”, there are much more sophisticated supplies, etc. you would need. Right now, we are just talking about hiking for fun. Fame And Fortune

The qualities needed to be an expert motivational speaker are evident when they are compared to a speaker who is neither expert nor a motivator. People from all walks of life have at one time or another seen and heard a public speaker. For most, their first experience hearing a speaker was probably a school teacher or school administrator. Some were memorable, some where not. Just like the Sunday church service, people endured the good as well as the bad. As adults we have the choice of staying in our seats or leaving the room, a choice oftentimes not extended to children.

The expert motivational speaker is the person who speaks with people not at them; the person who establishes eye contact and feels the energy . The expert motivational speaker sees the glass half full and can stay focused in any situation; the person who can conjure a story on the spot and produce laughter and tears. The expert motivational speaker is sensitive to her audience, has done the homework and knows the common thread that brings any particular gathering together. Passion and energy are the trademarks of effective expert motivational speakers. They are positive advocates for humanity who have the ability to feel the importance of awakening emotions and desires in people.

Oftentimes the keynote presenters are famous athletes, successful coaches or high profile personalities. Audiences come to see the person more than to hear them. They tell their stories and share the tales of their climb to success; but, not all are expert motivational speakers. Fame and notoriarity do not necessarily give these speakers the skills needed to evoke passion and desire in their audiences. They might be able to build a team of football players who win games, or pitch a no hitter, or star in three movies a year or run for high office, but they may not be able to connect with the moms and dads who are working hard to put a roof over their heads, wheels under their feet and food on the table. They might not remember what it is like to do their own grocery shopping, cart their children to and from day care or do their own laundry. Sometimes the disconnect between speaker and audience is extremely visible. Read the rest of this entry »
